I've been extremely fortunate enough to travel and experience a lot of great shoots as Director of Content at Madrone Studios in San Francisco. In this piece, it includes content shot in Cuba, Costa Rica, Lake Tahoe, CA, Symbiosis Festival, San Francisco and Nevada City, CA. Looking forward to this next year shooting more exciting projects!  

Over the course of thirty minutes, I decided to step outside of the office and walk around the block and do a quick experiment. The objective was simple. I first would ask if it was okay to take their picture, then would just say thank you and smile. Everyone was delighted.

One of my first shoots with the RED Epic Dragon. This was an amazing shoot for a client looking for content for Madrone Studios 75ft screen at The Village in SF. 

In November of 2016, Madrone Studios premiered MUSE at The Village that featured interactive art installations from Ecco Screen, Phil Reyneri, Lorenzo Vianello, Peter Clark, GMUNK and a musical performance by Rufus de Sol. In this piece, I interviewed GMUNK on his use on his inspiration behind his love in infrared photography, which was on display throughout the venue. Can was the second headlining artist for the MUSE interactive art and concert series at The Village in San Francisco. I had the pleasure of interviewing him while learning about his inspiration to his incredible, brain melting and awe inspiring art. Awesome dude! I interviewed Bay Area interactive artist Jeffrey Bryant at the premiere MUSE art show in San Francisco that took place at The Village on November 30, 2016. Jeff gives us a little insight into his artistic background, inspiration and thoughts on the new MUSE art show event series.
 

We took a trip to True Grass Farms and Stemple Creek Ranch in West Marin to learn about carbon ranching, a type of land management focused on rotational cattle grazing that reduces greenhouse gas emissions. We met with two fourth generation ranchers, Guido Frosini and Loren Poncia, as well as sustainable food advocate and restauranteur, Karen Leibowitz, to explore the role of grass fed beef in our food system.

Farm to Fork SF is a web and event series here in San Francisco that features the stories of chefs, farmers and food activists in the Bay Area. This piece featured Oakland native Chef Tu David Phu as he foraged for various seaweed in Tomales Bay, CA for a meal to be had by two dozen people the following day. 

Growing up in Rome, Chef Marcelli developed a passion for food at a young age, learning traditional Roman recipes and techniques from the women in his family. He entered culinary school at the age of 13 and made the move to the Bay Area shortly after graduation, where he is now one of San Francisco's most promising young chefs.

This was my first music festival I had ever attended and it was incredible. With a new RED Epic Dragon in hand and limited gear and crew, Jonathan Rowe and I set out to capture as much as we can of this amazing festival. After coming back and scrubbing through the footage, I couldn't think of any other artist than Tipper to edit this piece to as his sunrise set is still something I will never forget. 

SF Public Canvas was a community art project produced by Madrone Studios in partnership with Oakland, CA based vertical dance company, Bandaloop. This was a wonderful project that enlisted the art of local residents of the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco that was projected onto a large building by Madrone's Pat Jagla and Sean Connor. I shot a lot of the content as well as the aerials of downtown SF. 

I shot and edited this piece for Madrone Studios and Bandaloop's SF Public Canvas that took place in the summer of 2016. This content was projected on the side of a seven story building while a poet walked down from the top to the ground level. Bandaloops wonderful dancers then performed a vertical dance while the content looped behind them. 

An unforgettable performance by one of my favorite musicians, Nicolas Jaar at The Village in San Francisco. For a majority of the show, I was enjoying the tunes from the mezzanine without any intentions of filming. I then received word about 3/4th of the way into the set to, "Go Grab the RED and shoot this!" So I did, and this is what I managed to get! 

After one of the biggest storms of the decade, the Madone Studios team headed to Tahoe for a weekend retreat. Just before leaving, myself, Pat and Chris drove around to find the perfect spots to launch the drone. The results were stunning!

One of my favorite bands, Jaga Jazzist inspired me to create this short piece for the premiere MUSE SF art show in San Francisco. This was the first art show my work was featured in, projected on a 20 ft window. Created using only ice and a can of dust off. 

This was a camera test using a microscope, ice, food coloring and some money. I wanted to try different looks for an opening credits sequence for a political documentary at the height of the 2016 election campaign. 

Having spent over three weeks with artist like GMUNK, Can Buyukberber, Ecco Screen and Peter Clark, I was inspired to create this little cut to test out the 105mm Nikon on the RED.
